Hello

I'm Tina Pomroy, owner of Going Om. I'm passionate about helping people confidently express their true selves while feeling a sense of wellbeing and balance. I also love dance, yoga, nature, chocolate, travel, and exploring human nature :)

Curious about the name Going Om?

Om is considered the sacred sound of the universe – the vibration believed to have initiated creation. Going Om began as a blog in 2012 when I returned home to Newfoundland & Labrador, where “home” is often pronounced “ome.” Rooted in the idea that home is where the heart is, Going Om is about returning to your centre and truth. In a world of disconnection and noise, I help people feel connected, regulated, and a sense of coming back “om."

I offer free consults for counselling and coaching - connect with me to chat.

The Passion Behind the Business

I am a student of life practicing a yoga lifestyle of compassion, curiosity, humour, and acceptance with over 25 combined years of experience in leadership, coaching, facilitation, mental health, and wellbeing.

With 30 years of yoga experience and learning, I have found different practices support different seasons of life, and I teach yoga with that in mind. After completing my 200-hour yoga teacher training certification, I completed numerous special trainings such as yoga Nidra, chair yoga, and yoga for trauma and mental health. In recent years, I travelled to India and Vietnam for training in traditional yoga and neurofascial yin yoga. Training in mindfulness and somatic dance add to my approach when teaching classes.

I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor with a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology, and I completed my thesis in the area of perimenopause mental health. With a trauma-informed, neurodivergent-friendly, and 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming lens, my approach is integrative and tailored to each client's needs. I draw from evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), narrative and existential therapy, or internal family systems, combined with somatic and mindfulness-based practices. Essentially, I listen to you to learn how I can best help you and use various interventions depending on how they help you.

I have been coaching leaders and professionals since 2013 as a Certified Executive Coach, lead my own team using a coach approach for several years before that, and completed my MBA in 2007. With training, research, and lived experience related to how midlife impacts many women professionally, my coaching programs focus on coaching women in this season of their lives to develop ways of working and leading that support their performance and wellbeing.

Finally, I love creating authentic spaces where women can reconnect with themselves, build confidence, and create meaningful change and have been creating these spaces for 10 years through yoga and wellness retreats and workshops.
